The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has begun sealing shops and commercial plazas along the Tejuosho–Ojuelegba corridor for violating the state's waste management regulations.
The enforcement exercise, carried out by the agency's Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement (WISE) team on Thursday, followed the expiration of compliance notices earlier issued to affected business owners.
LAWMA Managing Director Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin said the operation underscores the agency's resolve to enforce environmental laws and maintain cleanliness across Lagos.
“Following the expiration of compliance notices, LAWMA's Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement (WISE) team has commenced the sealing of non-compliant shops and plazas along the Tejuosho–Ojuelegba corridor,” he said on his official X page.
