Lamar Jackson found a new way to improve his conditioning before reporting for the Baltimore Ravens’ 2026 training camp.
Jackson incorporated boxing into his offseason program while training alongside wide receiver Zay Flowers in Florida. The workouts were not preparation for a second career. Jackson viewed them as an opportunity to add another demanding cardio session to an already extensive routine.
“Just cardio. That’s what I did it for,” Jackson said during an appearance on “The Lounge” podcast. “Me and Zay, just cardio. We would work out like 6 in the morning, 7 in the morning. Then we’ll go box for extra cardio.”
Jackson introduced Flowers to the sessions after hearing about the workout from a friend who had begun boxing for fitness. The quarterback quickly recognized how the activity could complement his football preparation.
