The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has alerted motorists to an impending partial traffic disruption along the Kara Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as the Federal Ministry of Works begins rehabilitation of the bridge.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Mrs Bolanle Ogunlola, the repair work involves the replacement of the bridge's expansion joint and is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, lasting for two weeks.
The ministry said the project would require a temporary reduction of the existing four-lane carriageway to two lanes over a 1.5-kilometre stretch to create a safe working area for construction personnel.
As a result, motorists have been advised to expect partial traffic delays around the Kara axis throughout the duration of the project.
