Photo by Scott Winters/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images There was a truly bizarre incident to occur during the Kansas City Royals’ victory earlier this week against the San Francisco Giants.
It involved one Royals fan being arrested by local police inside the stadium after he retrieved a Salvador Perez home run ball.
However, this was not any ordinary home run ball, it was Perez’s record-tying hit that brought him level with George Brett for the most home runs scored in franchise history.
The ball soared past the fans in the pen and into a fountain at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
After jumping the fence and retrieving the historic home run ball from the fountain, the Royals fan was quickly put in handcuffs by the local police.
Perez has since sent out a plea for the fan to be released.
