Former Auburn golfer Jackson Koivun is turning in one of the best performances of his young professional career.
Koivun enters Sunday's action at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities 20 under par, which is good enough to take the top spot on the leaderboard ahead of the final day of action. He holds a three-stroke lead over Emiliano Grillo and Ben Kohles, and is six strokes ahead of PGA mainstay Scottie Scheffler.
Koivun created separation on the leaderboard by finishing 10 under in Saturday's round three action and scoring a record-setting 28 on the back nine. He also set a 54-hole record by scoring 64 in Thursday's portion and 68 on Friday, changing the record to 193.
Holding onto such a large lead and ultimately winning the event will be a challenge for Koivun, but perservering under this type of pressure is what led him to win two NCAA titles during his time at Auburn.
