Infantino is losing the battle to remain FIFA president
Gianni Infantino is facing the most serious challenge to his decade-long leadership of FIFA, and his position is increasingly tenuous, according to Sky News .
A growing coalition of football associations has united against his plan to sell a stake in the governing body’s commercial competitions to private investors.
UEFA’s 55 member associations have unanimously rejected the proposal and warned they will boycott FIFA competitions unless the plans are abandoned .
The stance follows an emergency meeting and a dramatic escalation in the dispute over FIFA’s proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).
FFE is a new company that would oversee the organisation’s competitions.
CONCACAF, representing North America, Central America and the Caribbean, also publicly rejected the proposal following its own emergency discussions.
