NEW DELHI: India continued their batting revolution in T20 Internationals on Saturday, matching their own world record for the most 200-plus totals in a calendar year after piling up 219/5 against Zimbabwe in the second T20I.
The 219-run effort was India's ninth 200-plus total in T20Is in 2026, drawing level with the record they had set in 2024. No other full-member nation has managed more than six such totals in a single calendar year, underlining India's sustained dominance with the bat in the shortest format.
More remarkably, India have now crossed the 200-run mark 52 times in T20Is, extending their all-time record. The next-best side, South Africa, has managed the feat only 29 times, highlighting the gulf between India and the rest of the cricketing world when it comes to consistently posting mammoth totals.
