Footage of some officers of the Nigeria Police Force, who attempted to extort money from a passenger along the Lagos-Sagamu Expressway, has triggered public outrage.
In the 2 minutes 34 seconds video, one of the officers at a checkpoint was heard demanding 'money' from the traveler, who claimed to be a resident of Akure.
The travller, however, declined, telling the officers that he doesn't “have anything here if not I would have given you”.
His refusal to offer the officers money triggered a heated exchange between him and other officers at the checkpoint.
One of the officers could be heard saying: “I would have slapped you and detained you if you were Ibo”
The disturbing video went viral on Friday morning with netizens demanding probe and arrest of the erring personnel.
