The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum announced on July 29 the pair of Northern Kentucky athletes who will receive the Tom Browning Scholarship.
Kaitlyn Dixon of Highlands and Tyler Schumacher of Campbell County were announced as the winners and will be honored before the Reds game on Aug. 5.
The $5,000 scholarship has been awarded annually since 2024 to Greater Cincinnati baseball and softball pitchers who have on-field success while also leading in community service.
Dixon was the Ninth Region Player of the Year and a first-team All-Kentucky selection after leading Highlands to a 35-7 record and a state semifinal appearance. Dixon went 30-4 with a 0.91 earned run average and 352 strikeouts in 207 innings.
Schumacher was a multiple time first-team All-Kentucky pick and 10th Region Player of the Year. He hit .512 at the plate with 38 RBIs, seven home runs and 13 doubles. On…
