Nigeria's Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has criticised Burkina Faso’s military leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, over his position on Sharia and governance.
In a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, Gumi described Traoré as too young and inexperienced.
He further said that the Burkina Faso's leader is very naive to fully understand the complexities surrounding religion, society and global politics.
According to him, Traoré’s approach could create opportunities for extremist groups to exploit public sentiment and attract more supporters.
He warned that leadership decisions require a deeper understanding of social and geopolitical realities.
