Harvey Barnes signs new long-term contract with Newcastle United
Newcastle United have confirmed Harvey Barnes has signed a new long-term contract.
The 28-year-old still had two years left on his original deal, but the club have convinced him to extend his stay at St James’ Park.
“It feels great to sign this new contract before the new season starts,” Barnes said. “It has been an amazing journey so far and I’m delighted to continue that.”
Barnes has been an important first-team player for Newcastle since joining them in 2023 from Leicester City.
He has made 120 appearances across all competitions, scoring 30 goals in the process.
The England international enjoyed an impressive campaign last season when the team’s other forwards failed to deliver.
Barnes struck 16 times and assisted further six in 57 appearances across all competitions.
