The Los Angeles Angels salvaged the final game of their three-game set against the San Francisco Giants with a 4-3 win, and the Halos built an early lead and managed to hold off the Giants’ ninth inning rally against two different Angels relievers .
The Angels broke out early in this one with a run in the first inning and three more in the fourth inning off Giants starter Carson Whisenhunt, with the first run coming on an RBI groundout by Jorge Soler. Soler then hit a solo homer in the fourth to double the Halos lead, and followed with a two-run shot to make it 4-0.
Jose Soriano was on his game in this one as he contines to return to form. He did allow an unearned run in the fifth, as Willy Adames got a cheap double that was deflected by shortstop Zach Neto, and Drew Cavanaugh walked.
