German coach Matthias Jaissle lined up as Eddie Howe’s replacement at Newcastle Matthias Jaissle is widely expected to leave Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli and take over as Newcastle United head coach.
With Eddie Howe set to depart his role at Newcastle, the Premier League club are reportedly in advanced talks with Al-Ahli over a deal to appoint Jaissle as his successor.
The 38-year-old German coach is understood to be keen on taking the job at Newcastle, with personal terms not expected to be a problem should an agreement be reached between the two clubs.
Jaissle began his coaching career in the youth setup at RB Leipzig and, after a few other stops, became head coach of RB Salzburg in 2021. He later moved to Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023.
