Former Texas A&M standout A.J. Minter is on the move once again. Halfway through his two‑year deal with the New York Mets , the veteran left‑hander is reportedly being traded to the Minnesota Twins , marking a significant shift for a reliever who has carved out a steady, reliable role across nearly a decade in the majors.
Minter originally entered professional baseball in unconventional fashion. He was drafted in the 38th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers but chose to honor his commitment to Texas A&M . He spent his first two seasons at Blue Bell Park working out of the bullpen before developing into one of the SEC’s premier arms. That rise culminated in his selection in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft, launching a career that would eventually include a 2021 World Series championship with the Atlanta Braves.
