Ex-Feyenoord chief reveals he was "actively working" on Givairo Read's move to Bayern last winter Former Feyenoord technical director Dennis te Kloese reveals Bayern Munich were in serious negotiations to sign Givairo Read last winter.
“Before the winter break last year, I was actively working on a transfer for Read to Bayern Munich,” Te Kloese told newspaper De Telegraaf.
"At that point, several other clubs also entered the race. Their offers were all around the €25million mark, with some going slightly higher.
"The plan last winter was to finalize the transfer, let Givairo stay at Feyenoord for another six months, and then have him make the move in the summer.
But then Givairo suffered two injuries. That ultimately put a stop to the deal," the former Feyenoord chief explained.
