The Swiss is set to be unopposed and reelected for a fourth full term as FIFA president for the 2027 FIFA election, which would extend his tenure as world football’s supremo to 15 years.
The outlet understands that Infantino’s controversial plan to sell off World Cup stakes to outside investors has accelerated UEFA’s search of a challenger to Infantino. Politico reports that several European football executives circled around Al-Khelaïfi.
