Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, has revealed he is planning to play new signing Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer together in his starting line-up
Rogers joined childhood friend Palmer at Stamford Bridge in a £117 million move from Aston Villa last week.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Sydney Super Cup pre-season friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers, Alonso said he expects the duo to cause defences problems next season.
“In that position we needed an important player and I'm sure there were not many more better options than Morgan Rogers,” Alonso said.
“I think it means a lot to everyone and for the players that are already here as well, they have a good feeling and they are looking forward to having him.
“You need players who can have that almost instant impact and I'm sure Morgan won't need much time to adapt to the club, the system and his team-mates.
