Just ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles ' training camp, the team announced it was signing defensive tackle Jordan Carter to a four-year contract extension worth $152 million. This extension will make him the highest-paid defensive tackle in the history of the NFL, surpassing the Tennessee Titans ' Jeffery Simmons, who put pen to paper on a deal worth $105.8 million earlier in the offseason.
When discussing the extension at the training camp, Eagles' executive vice president, Howie Roseman, made a remark about the safety of fans' jerseys for certain players, without saying their names; it'd be presumed that he was talking about cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
