Dave Portnoy was quick to announce to the world Friday that he had no belief in LeBron James winning a championship with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Earlier in the day, James shocked the sports world when he announced he’d end his career in Philadelphia . The 41-year-old signed a two-year, $8 million deal to join the 76ers for what will be his 24th and 25th seasons in the NBA.
Moments after the news broke, Portnoy posted a video on X/Twitter to give his immediate reaction. Sitting in what appeared to be a private jet, the Barstool Sports founder explained that he was on his way to Saratoga but wanted to give his initial thoughts on the stunning move. A diehard Boston Celtics fan, Portnoy was elated that James chose Philadelphia and predicted that the team would not have much success.
