Nigeria's Tobi Amusan delivered a commanding performance on Thursday to book her place in the women's 100m hurdles final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The former world champion cruised to victory in the opening semifinal, crossing the finish line in a stunning 12.19 seconds to underline her status as one of the favourites for the gold medal.
Amusan finished comfortably ahead of South Africa's Marione Fourie, who clocked 12.50 seconds, while Jamaica's Kerrica Hill came third in 12.69 seconds.
Although Amusan's time was the fastest ever recorded in the event at the Commonwealth Games under any conditions, it will not count as a Games record because it was achieved with a +3.8m/s tailwind, well above the legal limit of +2.0m/s required for record purposes.
