In a news conference ahead of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers , Mets pitcher Clay Holmes addressed the uncertainty surrounding his immediate future with the ballclub.
With the MLB trade deadline set for 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, the Mets have already indicated that they are open for business, and Holmes is one of many players who could be on the move .
"There's a lot that can happen, a lot of different scenarios," the veteran hurler stated. "It does feel like the team is going to make some moves; what those are, we don't know."
Holmes, 33, has a player option following the 2026 season, and it was recently reported that the right-hander was open to inking an extension .
"I'm grateful to have an opportunity here with the Mets, and have been since I signed here," the pitcher said.
