Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix, with the Blues reportedly reaching the final stages of negotiations for the French centre-back.
The deal is expected to be finalised soon, marking another significant addition to Xabi Alonso's squad ahead of the new Premier League season. Lacroix has emerged as one of Chelsea's priority defensive targets after impressing with his athleticism, pace and composure in England.
The 25-year-old is understood to have made it clear that he wanted the move to Stamford Bridge, helping accelerate talks between the two clubs. The defender would become Chelsea's latest investment in a youthful squad as the club continues to build a team capable of competing for major honours.
