After weeks of speculation, CAS has officially confirmed a date for the hearing in the Senegal vs Morocco case to determine the winner of the 2025 AFCON.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled a hearing for October 8 to determine the outcome of the ongoing legal dispute over the winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The case involves the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) , which is appealing against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) following CAF's decision to declare Senegal as having forfeited the tournament, effectively awarding the 2025 AFCON title to Morocco.
According to CAS, the appeal seeks to overturn CAF's ruling that Senegal forfeited the competition, a decision that resulted in Morocco being recognized as champions.
