The Chicago Bears are back at Halas Hall for the start of training camp, with the first practice set to take place on Wednesday. Before the players hit the field, though, general manager Ryan Poles met with the media on Tuesday to discuss a number of topics, including injuries, position battles, and more.
One notable topic is the possibility of extending right tackle Darnell Wright, who became eligible for a new deal this offseason. Wright has been the entrenched starter since coming into the league as the No. 10 overall pick in 2023 and is coming off his best season as a pro.
Poles acknowledged the Bears want Wright to be with the team long-term but stated it takes two sides to get a deal done and the window is limited. "There's a window to get a deal done.
