The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has clarified reports purporting that a serving military officer, identified as Colonel Abdussalam A. Ude was killed by gunmen within the nation's capital city.
Reports making the rounds, suggest that the military officer was attacked and killed by armed men in Kurudu District Area of FCT while they were attempting to kidnap him.
The assailants, according to the reports, also shot the wife, who is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
Reacting, FCT Police Command in a statement issued on Tuesday night by its Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Josephine Adeh, said contrary to the reports, the unfortunate incident did not occur within FCT.
