Yet another football icon is set to be named as a national team coach in the coming days, with France looking to secure a big-name manager after the departure of Didier Deschamps.
The French Football Federation has announced it will hold a news conference on July 28th to unveil the next coach of the national team, after the legendary Didier Deschamps stepped down following a fourth-place finish at the World Cup.
While no specific coach was named in the French Football Federation's statement, there is one overwhelming favourite to succeed Deschamps as the national team coach.

Zinedine Zidane has long been viewed as the leading candidate for the role and has never hidden his ambition to coach his national team after stepping away from Real Madrid in 2021.
