The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) recently placed Nigeria among the world’s most critical hunger hotspots, this, should trigger an emergency response from every institution charged with safeguarding the nation’s security and economic future. But, familiar temptation to dismiss the report as yet another international assessment may just generate fleeting headlines before disappearing into official archives. That would be a grave mistake.
