The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of nine passengers following an attack by armed bandits on a commercial bus along the Jos–Kano highway in Doguwa Local Government Area.
The incident, according to Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, occurred on Sunday at about 5:30 p.m.
He said five suspected bandits armed with machetes and a firearm ambushed a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number BKK 6824 XA at the Folgore Forest axis.
The attackers reportedly abducted 13 of the 20 passengers on board.

Kiyawa said the Divisional Police Officer in Doguwa swiftly mobilised tactical operatives to the scene after receiving a distress call.
