Isaac Guerendo seemed like he could make a case to be the San Francisco 49ers ' long-term backup running back.
Times have changed, though, and now he might not even be a part of the 49ers' roster in 2026.
In a new ESPN 53-man roster projection , Guerendo was left off the team.
The predicted group includes three traditional RBs: Christian McCaffrey, Jordan James and Kaelon Black.
The projection also has fullback Kyle Juszczyk on the roster.
The emergence of James last year is probably a lot of the factor in Guerendo not being a part of the group.
Guerendo was also injured last season, which allowed for other RBs to show what they were capable of.
