FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, has written a letter to Argentina after they lost the 2026 World Cup final to Spain.
Ferran Torres netted the winner in extra time as La Roja won 1-0 to clinch the trophy.
According to the DailyMail, in the letter sent to the President of the Argentine FA, Infantino hailed the former champions' professionalism.
He wrote: “Dear Mr. President, Yesterday, Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the magnificent New York New Jersey Stadium, Argentina won the silver medal of the FIFA World Cup 2026, after an exciting final against Spain.
“I would like to reiterate my most sincere congratulations for this important new result for Argentine soccer.
