OSOGBO — Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fadeyi was among the federal lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC but failed to secure the party's senatorial ticket for the 2027 election.

The APC ticket for Osun Central was won by Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), a development that sparked protests by some of Fadeyi's supporters, who demanded that the ticket be returned to the incumbent senator.

Unlike Fadeyi, other former PDP lawmakers who joined the APC, including Senator Francis Fadahunsi and members of the House of Representatives, Wole Oke, Taofeek Ajilesoro and Sanya Omirin, secured the party's tickets to seek re-election.
